Carrie Ann Buchanan is a Nebraska native.  She grew up playing guitar, piano and writing songs outside of a little town in Western Nebraska.

After graduating from Doane University she moved to Houston, Texas for a costume design internship.

She fell in love with the live music scene there and began playing open mics and solo shows around town.

In 2004 she formed Carrie Ann and The Apocalyptics with Houston music stalwarts Jimb Jackson, Gary Clark, Susan Jackson and Adam Carmon.

In 2008 they released a full length album entitled “Strong Wind” though Montrose Records.

After almost 20 years in Texas, Carrie Ann moved back to Nebraska in 2014 and in 2015 joined forces with Tica Felise in The Shineys.
